Our Main Focuses

Rehabilitation

Physiotherapy and counselling for physically handicapped individuals and others from the underprivileged background. We provide a support system with the intention of getting them back to living a near normal life and even earning a living.


Support to the Girl Child

Motivating and assisting girls to continue their ambition. We assist girls in achieving their life’s ambition of becoming professionals by giving them the much needed motivation and monetary assistance.


General Outreach

Providing a support system, information & funding (if need be) for children & young adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses in Goa. We also conduct medical check-ups in low-income homes and assist them with follow-up treatments. We assisted two physically disabled children in receiving physiotherapy and other medical attention.

Assistance to families

Providing a monthly groceries to struggling single mothers and poor families to ensure they have access to basic necessities.


Skill Development

We organize workshops to assist children/school dropouts to develop their special skills with the aim of helping them make a living.

  • Sports Programs: We assist special and underprivileged children in developing their sports skills through professional coaching. We also have professional coaches going to four Homes for the Underprivileged with which we are affiliated to teach these children.

Support Groups

HIV - helping young adults infected or affected by HIV

People living with HIV can benefit from our support group as it will allow them to share their experiences, seek advice and referrals, and receive support from others who fully understand what they are going through.


Autoimmune disorders

An inclusive space for those living with autoimmune disorders, where they share, learn, understand, and connect with one another. They are given a space to understand their disorder, diagnosis, causes of the symptoms, symptoms management, nutrition, stress control, etc. with an aim to help them live a near normal life.

Work during Covid

As visits and many of our activities were stopped due to the pandemic, and new needs had arisen, STARS had to move their focus the prevailing situation.

  • 18 needy families were provided with monthly groceries for between 8 months to a year until the breadwinner of the family was able to get a job.
  • Books, stationery and other supplies were provided to underprivileged students in three schools.
  • Breadwinners in families in need were assisted in getting job opportunities.
  • Financial assistance was provided to a few whose homes had been damaged due to the cyclone, and, due to some reason they were unable to get assistance from the government.
