Since its inception in 2013, STARS has been relentlessly working with volunteers in Goa to alleviate the sufferings of the underprivileged. We mix community organising, counselling, assistance, and teaching into one demanding mission with the primary purpose of improving individual and community well-being. We choose this mission because we are deeply committed on a personal, emotional, and moral level to assist those in need, and work for equal treatment of people from low socioeconomic status.
What We Do
Providing physiotherapy and counselling to physically handicapped individuals from the underprivileged background with an aim to making them independent even to the extent of earning their living.
Motivating and assisting girls from the low socioeconomic status to continue their education. Through guidance and monetary support we assist them in achieving their goals in their particular fields, like nursing, engineering, etc.
Providing a support system through information and funding where required for very special cases in any field, be it disabilities, chronic illnesses, sports, in distress or emergency, etc where they are unable to avail of any scheme for support, and, as such, would be left unattended.
The conversations, fun and vital aid elicited by our events help the less fortunate members of our society build relationships, learn, and grow with the world.
